About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician - Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the maintenance technician team while executing hands-on maintenance and repair tasks within the company's facilities and maintain close liaison with Facilities Management Leadership. This role ensures that all building systems and equipment are functioning optimally, and that the facility remains in top condition. The Team Lead will direct daily operations, coordinate team activities, and maintain high standards for maintenance work.

Requirements

  • High School 4 CXC Subject Passes (Including English) required
  • 5+ years experience in facilities maintenance, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role required
  • 5+ years proficiency in maintenance management systems, building envelope maintenance management and appropriate use of tools required
  • A consistent high performer in his/her current role
  • Capable of using Microsoft Office Suite
  • An ability to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language
  • Strong knowledge in Maintenance Management and Building Envelope Requirements.
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard including day to day maintenance tasks and other assigned projects.
  • Allocate specific tasks and projects to team members based on their skills and the urgency of maintenance needs.
  • Conduct daily inspections of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems as well as building envelope inspections to identify potential issues and make necessary plans to action those issues to ensure optimal performance and occupant comfort.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming work orders, ensuring that they are completed on time, and to specifications and that work order details are updated in CMMS and helpdesk informed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, diagnosing and resolving issues swiftly to reduce downtime.
  • Assist with development of and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment and building envelope.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or services, ensuring quality and timely completion.
  • Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, team performance, and facility conditions for management review.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Ensure good customer friendly service are exhibited to RUSVM external and internal customers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of building and equipment checks, maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory usage and follow up necessary documentation from service contractors for works executed or consulted on.
  • Perform regular audits of maintenance work and facility conditions to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee inspections of safety equipment e.g. fire & life safety systems, emergency showers and eye wash stations.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and plan maintenance activities that minimize disruptions to their operations.
