Facilities Maintenance Lead Technician

IPG Photonics•Marlborough, MA

About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Lead Technician is the most experienced hands-on facilities role and serves as the primary technical escalation point and informal team leader for the facilities group, without formal people-management accountability. The role advises on preventive maintenance strategy, leads reliability and improvement initiatives, provides backup coverage for building automation and controls as needed, manages vendors and contractors for larger or specialized projects, and mentors less experienced technicians and maintenance workers. The position coordinates daily work assignments and priorities, improves preventive maintenance and maintenance-system data quality, leads analysis of recurring failures, and provides input on capital planning and long-range maintenance initiatives. It also leads renovation, equipment-move, and workspace-reconfiguration projects; supports safety, compliance, emergency response, and facility shutdown and startup; and maintains accurate maintenance and compliance records. Site-specific building automation platform training is provided on the job.
