About The Position

Happy Hospitality is seeking a reliable, organized, hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to support multiple Chicago restaurant locations. The role focuses on general facility upkeep, deep cleaning projects, organization, seasonal setups and decorations, and minor maintenance tasks. This is not a highly technical maintenance position; specialized electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen equipment repairs are generally handled by professional service companies. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, flexible, and takes pride in keeping restaurants clean, organized, functional, and looking their best. The position is full-time, hourly, and non-exempt, with a primarily Monday–Friday daytime schedule (for example, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) and travel among Chicago restaurant locations. Occasional availability may be required for urgent situations, special projects, seasonal installations, or restaurant needs. The hourly rate is $21–$24, based on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Offers are contingent on a motor vehicle record review that meets the insurance carrier’s requirements.
