About The Position

The Janitorial Team helps support the business by keeping showrooms and other areas thoroughly clean and tidy, creating a visually pleasing and safe environment for customers and employees. Furniture Enterprises of Alaska, Inc. is a locally owned furniture retailer whose stores include Sadler’s, Sadler’s Outlet, Ashley, La-Z-Boy, Williams and Kay, The Ultimate Mattress Store, and Mattress Firm. The company describes its workplace as safe and positive, built on trust, mutual respect, and a desire for continuous improvement. Staff are subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, as well as background checks prior to employment. This is a full-time role with two consecutive days off each week and wages starting at $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a background check.
• Communicate clearly and follow instructions.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Be physically capable of operating drivable floor-cleaning equipment.
• Be able to lift or push up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to spend 8 hours on foot walking, bending, pushing or pulling, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect building interiors, including restrooms.
• Pick up trash and debris.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Monitor for and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with other assigned duties.
• Perform lawn maintenance.
• Shovel snow.
• Perform light maintenance duties.
