About The Position

Provides hands-on support to the Facilities Department during the 2027 summer internship period, May through August. The role is based primarily at Butterworth Hospital, with occasional travel to Blodgett Hospital or other Grand Rapids area facilities as needed. The internship offers exposure to facilities maintenance operations, skilled trades, and building systems in a healthcare environment. Assignments may be tailored to the intern’s interests and learning goals while supporting department needs such as accreditation survey preparation and space refreshes.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in high school; currently enrolled in a university pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the area of accountability; or a recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program.

Responsibilities

• Complete support tasks as directed and remain accountable for their completion.
• Maintain clear and appropriate documentation of actions taken.
• Analyze department processes and other Corewell Health systems encountered and make recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
• Participate in quality monitoring and process improvement activities.
• Communicate and collaborate with others as a team player to support continuity and coordination of services.
