About The Position

Relativity Space is seeking a Facilities HVAC Technician I to join their Facilities Engineering and Operations department. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the company's physical assets, including buildings, infrastructure, and utilities. The technician will manage maintenance programs for critical systems like HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The position involves overseeing daily operations, energy management, safety, and custodial services, as well as addressing facility-related issues. The role also contributes to engineering projects, space utilization management, and sustainability initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of Heating & Cooling Systems, a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction industry working with Mechanical systems and other trades, and experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment. Experience with mechanical distribution, load balancing, single-line diagrams, design documentation, construction drawings, construction bid solicitation, contractor selection, construction management, field superintendent, permitting, QA/QC, and commissioning, operating, and maintenance of mechanical systems is also required. Experience with grounding and bonding electrical and mechanical systems is necessary. The role requires ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, which may involve working from heights at 80+ ft and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to work on ladders and perform tasks like squatting, stooping, and kneeling with a tool belt. A valid California state driver’s license and acceptable driving record are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Excellent working knowledge of Heating & Cooling Systems
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the construction industry working with Mechanical systems and other trades.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment.

  • Experience with commissioning, operating, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

  • Prior experience in service maintenance, construction, and/or repair.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, which may involve working from heights at 80+ ft and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on ladders as well as squatting, stooping and/or kneeling with a tool belt.
  • Valid California state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
