About The Position

The Facilities / Grounds Assistant is a full-time, hourly position in the Gebhart Holdings Property Management Division. The assistant is cross-trained to support all divisions and properties with general building maintenance, light construction, lawn care, and snow removal. The role reports to the General Manager of the Property Management Division and does not supervise others.

The position calls for dependable attendance, internal customer service, and following the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes. The work involves outdoor conditions and physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing stairs, and operating machinery.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Experience with basic mechanical, construction, and/or lawn care preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical activities including talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to work in environmental conditions that include weather and temperature changes.
• Visual acuity to operate machinery, assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work, and make general observations of facilities.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Provide internal customer service to all properties.
• Mow, trim, weed, and blow off walks and parking lots.
• Remove snow by shoveling, operating a snow blower and/or plow truck, and spreading salt.
• Perform general building maintenance.
• Perform general building construction and painting.
• Load and unload materials and furniture.
• Complete additional projects assigned by the management team.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.
