About The Position

The Boulder JCC is seeking a talented, conscientious, and motivated Facilities & Events Staff member to join their team. This role is crucial in creating a positive and inviting space for everyone who comes on site, acting as an ambassador for the organization. The primary responsibilities include leading large-scale event setups and teardowns, managing daily building maintenance, overseeing routine custodial care and cleanliness, and handling exterior needs. The position requires an individual with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and collaborate effectively with a close-knit team. Success hinges on efficiently executing complex event plans, maintaining an uncompromising eye for detail and quality, possessing a welcoming disposition, and demonstrating a proactive approach to projects and learning new maintenance skills.

Requirements

  • Some experience and/or a strong desire to learn skills in general maintenance and landscaping
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation; welcoming, positive attitude and capacity to adapt
  • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
  • Enjoy being helpful and supporting a wide variety of events
  • Clear, professional, and effective written and verbal communications
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead large-scale event setups and teardowns, ensuring strict attention to detail, efficiency, and layout quality
  • Perform routine custodial duties, deep cleaning, and facility upkeep to ensure all interior spaces, restrooms, and common areas are pristine, sanitary, and welcoming
  • Perform general building maintenance, landscaping, and restocking of supplies while actively learning new technical maintenance skills
  • Interface with organizations using Boulder JCC space to assure appropriate plans for set-up and clean up are in place
  • Provide assistance to the Event and Rental Director and Facilities Manager leading up to and during public and private special events
  • Supervise caterers and other service staff, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to handle logistical adjustments as they arise
  • Collaborate closely and work hand-in-hand with the Facilities team and the rest of the BJCC staff to keep operations beautifully aligned
  • Serve as a point of contact and ensure a warm, welcoming, and helpful experience for community members, event rentals, and staff
  • Continually optimize processes, including identifying best practices, and working efficiently, and managing workflows autonomously
