The Facilities Environmental Safety Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing portions of the Accreditation Environment of Care (TJC) and/or Physical Environment (DNV) Safety programs for multiple Advocate facilities. This role acts as a liaison for various safety-related chapters, coordinates committees, and supports regulatory compliance. The specialist also interfaces with facility administration for special projects, presents safety programs, and discusses safety impacts of operational changes. A key responsibility includes initiating and disseminating risk assessment documentation for projects and acting as a liaison between different departments to ensure environmental safety. The role also involves generating reports, conducting internal inspections, managing hazardous waste, and acting as a first responder for incidents.
