Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • B.S. in Engineering with a preference for a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering OR 2+ years of experience with engineering responsibility in a regulated industry, with preference being for food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, etc.

  • Experience working with and implementing Continuous Improvement tools & methodologies
  • Work experience in the food / medical industry under FDA regulation

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering support to all aspects of the infrastructure of the facility.
  • Assists in development, planning, and execution of all plant-related facility engineering activities including a wide variety of mechanical, plumbing and electrical components, but not limited to: building HVAC, roofs, floors, drains, utilities and fire protection systems.
  • Analyze system failures to determine source and cause.
  • Participate in evaluating system conditions and developing long term obsolescence and sustainability plans.
  • Applies working knowledge of engineering disciplines and independently conceives and develops approaches to problem solving that requires advanced technical knowledge.
  • Plans and conducts small to medium-sized projects. Responsibilities include detailed project planning/monitoring, budgeting, project reviews, implementation, validation, and release to production.
  • Promote and Drive continuous improvement programs utilizing common problem solving tools and methodologies in processes and procedures within the.
  • Ensure delivery of effective performance management while establishing and sustaining a positive work environment.
  • Follows escalation reporting process with inputs from peers/manager for decision making as required.
  • Make and communicate decisions that are appropriate for level of accountability.
  • This position will work to coordinate external contractors to perform work in a cost effective and safe manner.
  • You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
