About The Position

The City of Yorkton is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to lead custodial operations and support day-to-day event logistics at the Gallagher Centre. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, building care, and event readiness in a busy public facility.

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent at a minimum.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Class 5 driver’s license.
Possess and maintain R.C.M.P. security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Relevant schooling or work experience in event management, recreation and/or leisure services, or hotel/restaurant/hospitality is an asset.
Experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility operations, preferably in a public or high-use environment is considered an asset.
Experience supervising or leading staff in a union environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee all janitorial and custodial services throughout the Gallagher Centre and assigned City facilities.
Ensure building cleanliness standards are consistently achieved through regular inspections and quality control.
Lead, supervise, and support a team of Facility Attendants in daily cleaning and event setup duties.
Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and coordinate ordering of products and equipment.
Maintain event materials and supplies, including entrance mats, linens, A/V equipment, tables, chairs and other related items.
Work alongside staff to complete janitorial tasks, event setups, and facility preparations.
Coordinate setup and tear-down requirements for events, rentals, and programs.
Develop and implement training programs and resources.
Liaise with janitorial product and equipment suppliers.
Support and respond to customer needs during events to ensure a positive experience.
Ensure compliance with City policies, safety standards, and public health requirements.
