About The Position

The Second Shift Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of the Peachtree Dunwoody location of Ronald McDonald House Atlanta during operating hours. This hands-on role addresses maintenance needs and provides back-up support to the House Manager to ensure smooth operations. In addition, the Facilities Coordinator must be able to provide support at the Peachtree Dunwoody House when needed and respond to emergencies as required. This is a full-time, on-site position with a regular shift Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently during operating hours and respond calmly in emergencies.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to use technology for documentation and assignment process.

Nice To Haves

  • Facilities, general maintenance, or building operations experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience working in a residential or healthcare-related setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm and security system protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic walk-throughs of the PDH facility, inspecting safety, maintenance, and cleanliness concerns.
  • Perform minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or adjusting thermostats, painting, pressure washing and minor dry wall repair.
  • Complete evening preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager and Sr. Maintenance Coordinator.
  • Maintain orderly storage, utility, and mechanical areas throughout the shift.
  • Monitor all safety systems (fire panels, security systems, emergency exits) and respond to alarms or facility-related emergencies.
  • Document and escalate urgent building or mechanical issues to the Facilities Manager or on-call leadership as appropriate.
  • Address any environmental hazards (e.g., leaks, spills) promptly and safely.
  • Act as a backup point of contact for guest needs related to facilities or urgent safety concerns.
  • Assist the House Manager in ensuring the overall safety and readiness of the House.
  • Communicate clearly with the House Manager and provide support as needed during family emergencies or incidents.
  • Provide detailed shift notes and updates for the daytime Facilities team.
  • Ensure tools and workspaces used during the shift are cleaned, secured, and ready for the next day.
