About The Position

Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Facilities Controls Engineer to support PLC/SCADA development for utility systems serving a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates more than 150 utility systems, including chemical and gas systems, electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to operate continuously, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, supporting semiconductor manufacturing. The role works closely with manufacturing to understand how utility systems affect processes and how consumption can be reduced. The engineer designs, implements, and troubleshoots controls, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks. The role also supports controls-related scope for facility expansion and sustaining projects, provides technical assistance to the 24-hour operations team, helps ensure compliance with applicable codes, and works with suppliers and engineers across disciplines and TI sites. Texas Instruments will not sponsor visa or work authorization applicants for this position. The company describes comprehensive benefits, including competitive compensation, extensive health coverage, and wellness programs.

  • At least 4 years of relevant engineering experience with industrial controls and instrumentation systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLCs and/or SCADA systems.
  • Experience applying controls and instrumentation to process systems such as process cooling water, hot water, air systems, exhaust, and chemical or gas distribution.
  • Experience with Siemens, Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, or WAGO PLC hardware and software.
  • Experience programming Siemens, Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, or WAGO PLCs using control narratives or sequences of operations.
  • Experience developing or delivering turnkey Wonderware/Operations Management Interface (OMI) SCADA systems.
  • Experience in industrial network design, configuration, installation, maintenance, security strategies, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of PID loop tuning.
  • Ability to terminate instrumentation to a controller and perform calibration through the program interface.
  • Ability to troubleshoot alarms, field instrumentation, pneumatic and electric control valves, variable speed drives, and motor starters.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
