About The Position

This position requires strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), established cleaning policies and procedures, to maintain compliance with quality standards and FDA regulations. The role involves following all applicable standard operation procedures (SOP), guidelines, and policies to ensure sanitary conditions are maintained, that appropriate room and equipment sanitization records are neat and accurate, and that professional behavior is displayed within the controlled areas. The position plays a critical role in assuring sanitary conditions of the controlled areas are maintained to manufacture biopharmaceuticals. This position may be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience of cleaning a biopharmaceutical GMP controlled environment is a plus but not required
  • Accurate GMP documentation and sign off on work performed with an emphasis on Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)

Responsibilities

  • Perform sanitization and cleaning per governing SOPs in GMP spaces
  • Participate in required training on the use of sanitization disinfectants and equipment
  • Perform sanitization activities with ceiling mops, wall mops, floor mops, and wipers
  • Verify that the proper sanitization disinfectant is followed and used for each cleaning assignment
  • Understand and follow proper solvent handling procedures (EHS) and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste from GMP manufacturing process area waste receptacles on a daily basis
  • Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures and ensure technicians adhere to SOP and cleaning practices
  • Provide support, guidance, and training (technical and SOP compliance) to the union cleaning crew
  • Complete, review, and verify required GMP documentation at the end of each shift to ensure adherence to GDP and records are properly and accurately maintained
  • Organize and upkeep sanitization supply areas
  • Support inventory of general sanitization supplies and gowning supplies, working with the Supervisor and GMP Cleaning coordinator
  • Perform related duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Operational Compliance, and GMP Operations Manager to manage schedules necessary to clean the GMP controlled environment and support areas to comply with GMP requirements
  • Follow cGMPs as outlined in 21 CFR Part 211
  • Help control what enters the GMP process areas
  • Provide refresher training of sanitization practices as needed
  • Act as a backup to the Supervisor/s
