Requirements

  • Has substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Position requires a well-rounded technical background in all areas of facilities operations.
  • Candidate must be well organized and be able to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals within and outside the organization.
  • Experience in HVAC preventative maintenance, balancing, assessment and knowledge of fabrication techniques.
  • Must have the ability to manage projects

  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Physical capable of wearing a chemical cartridge respirator with appropriate PPE in and out of cleanroom.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
  • Performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
  • Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
  • Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches.
  • Responsible for supporting production’s chemical usage in a 24/7 MEMS manufacturing environment.
  • In conjunction with the more senior Chemical Technicians is responsible for biweekly auditing of the chemical inventory and all phases of virgin chemical and hazardous waste movement from receipt, through storage, distribution and disposal.
  • Will empty and refilled wet sinks per the current Repour schedule and when quality issues dictate the need for a repour.
  • Will champion EH&S issues and concerns, maintain necessary records and ensure that their work activities and that of co-workers are compliant with regulations.
  • Coordinate, schedule and perform Preventative Maintenance activities in multiple facilities.
  • Assure maximum equipment up-time (7x24) of facilities systems; including HVAC systems supporting Class 1,000 clean rooms, DI water, compressed air, industrial gases, electrical distribution, process plumbing, etc.
  • Use CMMS (computerized maintenance management software) as a tool to establish and schedule PM activities and coordinate workload.
  • Work with procurement and inventory control to audit and maintain chemical inventory levels and advise when manufacturing chemical utilization dictate a reevaluation of inventory levels.
  • Monitor chemical consumption in the Fab during the shift and plan for incoming shift based on production demands.
  • Deliver and stock chemicals accordingly.
  • Ensure that all chemical and waste containers are properly labeled, stored and disposed of.
  • Perform manual repours of chemical wet stations and removal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain and monitor chemical bulk delivery systems.
  • Handle, segregate, pack and label hazardous waste according to Hazardous Waste Profile and prepare for shipment according to federal, state and local regulations.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service levels maintaining a work request/work order system within department services.
  • Drive a forklift and ability to use drum handling hardware.
  • Assure facility systems are compliant with all regulatory and company life and environmental safety programs.
  • Work w/cross-functional departments to determine facility infrastructure needs supporting production requirements.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical failures as needed to support manufacturing.
  • Key member of (ERT) Emergency Response Team.
  • Emergency On-call pager (7day duration)
