Facilities Associate/Custodian: Part-Time

About The Position

Awaken Las Vegas is seeking a part-time Facilities Associate to support the daily operations of its Facilities Department. The church is engaged in regular outreach ministries, special events, worship, equipping its congregation, and reaching Las Vegas. The Facilities Associate maintains the property and ministry areas, completes set-up, clean-up, lock-up, and repairs, and interacts with students, teachers, staff, volunteers, and vendors. The role requires someone patient, self-starting, team-oriented, outgoing, conscientious, organized, adaptable, and people-focused. The employee assists with requested duties with a joyful heart and may work day, evening, and/or weekend hours. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, with one of these evening shifts: 4:00–9:30, 4:30–10:00, 5:00–10:30, or 5:30–11:00. The position also includes ministerial responsibilities. The employee must be a born-again Christian whose life demonstrates commitment to the Word of God and to serving and supporting Awaken Las Vegas’s vision and mission. Responsibilities include attending weekly department meetings and church services, exemplifying Christ’s love and integrity, participating in discipleship and community development, and being available to provide prayer and Biblical guidance when called upon.

Requirements

Must be a born-again Christian and demonstrate commitment to the Word of God and to serving and supporting Awaken Las Vegas’s vision and mission.
General computer knowledge required.
Understand and adhere to all safety and OSHA requirements.
Able to adapt and work effectively in a variety of situations.
Patient, self-starting, team-oriented, outgoing, conscientious, organized, and people-focused.
Able to work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, and/or weekend hours.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of janitorial work experience preferred.
Previous work in a Christian, school, or nonprofit environment is a plus.
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms, fixtures, showers as assigned, and waste receptacles; replenish restroom supplies.
Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; clean desks and countertops.
Pick up papers and other debris; wash windows, mirrors, and walls.
Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for conferences and meetings.
Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
Regulate ventilation and temperature and clean air filters and vents as required.
Identify and report building maintenance needs.
Clean, organize, and stock the assigned storage closet; report weekly inventory and request supplies.
Oversee, train, and maintain relationships with Facilities Department volunteers.
Maintain relationships with and assist in meeting the needs of the Church and School.
Assist in other areas as directed by church administration and/or the Senior Pastor.
Maintain strong working relationships with ALV and ACA staff, volunteers, and vendors.
Deliver packages and supplies as needed.
Maintain organizational platforms and work effectively to meet established objectives and deadlines.
Attend weekly department meetings and regularly attend and participate in Awaken Las Vegas services.
Exemplify the love of Christ and show mutual respect, dignity, and integrity.
Participate in discipling and developing the community.
Be available to provide prayer and Biblical guidance when called upon.
