About The Position
Apprentices are to train under the guidance of a qualified mechanic. The qualified mechanic is to mentor the apprentice as they train and learn with the expectation that at the end of their apprenticeship, they will be ready and able to complete the same tasks as our mechanical technicians. Mechanical apprentices work with trained and qualified HVAC mechanics, electricians, and plumbers to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and equipment. HVAC apprentices are generally trained in all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation. Plumbers are generally trained in cutting and repairing piping, assessing, and repairing drains and drainage systems. Electrical apprentices are generally trained in electrical safety, electrical distribution, and all electrical systems.
Requirements
- Must be ready and able to complete the same tasks as mechanical technicians at the end of the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and equipment.
- Train under the guidance of a qualified mechanic.
- Learn all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation (for HVAC apprentices).
- Learn cutting and repairing piping, assessing, and repairing drains and drainage systems (for Plumber apprentices).
- Learn electrical safety, electrical distribution, and all electrical systems (for Electrical apprentices).
