About The Position

The Facilities and Procurement Specialist, reporting to the Director of Facilities, provides administrative support for the functions and operations of the Facilities and Procurement offices. This role performs or oversees a variety of administrative and clerical functions including initiating bids, contracts, and advertisements. The specialist will address a broad range of services and maintain all pertinent information to ensure the proper operations of a large and complex office. The team at the Town of Cohasset is known for being dynamic and collaborative, and we truly enjoy providing services to the community. We are seeking a new team member who can hit the ground running and work in partnership with our talented colleagues and community, bringing new ideas and positive initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree required
  • MCPPO Certification needed
  • 5 years’ experience in a highly complex setting, or an equivalent combination of education and municipal experience.
  • Considerable experience in an office setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including competency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and excellent accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently without direct daily supervision and be able to prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly work.
  • Familiarity with standard administrative tasks and understanding of various town bylaws and state and federal regulations.
  • High ethical standards, and honor confidentiality when necessary.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
