About The Position

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operational needs of the property. This role coordinates vendors and contractors, manages janitorial and grounds maintenance services, oversees storage unit rentals, and facilitates tenant move-ins and move-outs. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, customer-service oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining a clean and well-functioning environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position based in Menlo Park, CA, Monday–Friday.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment, including vacuums and blowers.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull garbage and recycling containers and perform physical labor as required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and record-keeping abilities.
  • Must have reliable transportation & be able to provide proof of a valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance
  • Proficient in Outlook email and ADP Timekeeping
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in facilities management, property maintenance, storage operations, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance.
  • Coordinate and monitor outside vendors and contractors, including checking vendors in, overseeing work progress, and verifying completion of services.
  • Perform basic maintenance and upkeep tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and property regulations.
  • Oversee and perform janitorial services to maintain clean and presentable facilities.
  • Push and pull garbage and recycling containers for collection and return.
  • Operate blower equipment to keep walkways, parking areas, and grounds free of debris.
  • Vacuum and maintain interior common areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Coordinate and manage tenant move-ins and move-outs.
  • Conduct move-in and move-out inspections.
  • Document property conditions and communicate any maintenance needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the rental process.
