About The Position

South Central Power Company, Ohio’s largest electric cooperative, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator. This position will report to the District Operations Manager and primarily work out of our Lancaster, OH location with occasional travel to our Hillsboro and Barnesville sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and/or coordinating facility cleaning, meeting preparation and clean-up, routine general maintenance and repair, troubleshooting of issues, and minor repairs of all Cooperative buildings, grounds and equipment. The position ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant through routine inspections, timely issue resolution, and coordination of internal and third-party services. Duties include hands-on repair work, support of building systems, recordkeeping, and management of maintenance activities and supplies. This role also supports daily operations through emergency response, cross-department coordination, and general facility upkeep, including janitorial and event support functions.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, construction support, or a related field
  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities, vendors, and facility operations
  • Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical equipment)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to identify hazards
  • Familiarity with current compliance standards
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to respond timely to emergency situations
