About The Position

The Facilities and Fleet Coordinator leads the planning, coordination and delivery of facilities and fleet services across the Council, ensuring an operationally excellent and strategically sound environment. Working collaboratively within the Administration and Logistics team and across the wider organisation, this role ensures seamless service delivery and operational efficiency. With a customer-centric focus and a strategic lens for efficiency and sustainability, this role is integral to the long-term performance and resilience of physical and fleet assets. With a strong customer focus and a flexible, can-do attitude, the ideal candidate will be multi-skilled, proactive, and ready to contribute wherever needed. The role also involves meaningful engagement with iwi/hapū and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, requiring excellent communication skills and cultural awareness.

Requirements

  • A proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships, and gain the cooperation of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • At least four years’ experience in facilities management, fleet management and/or construction project management, preferably within local government.
  • A friendly, can-do attitude and strong people skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with a focus on achieving tasks and goals efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Cultural awareness.
