About The Position

Provides districtwide leadership within a specific content area or instructional focus to ensure high-quality, standards-aligned teaching and learning. Leads curriculum development, professional learning, and instructional alignment efforts while building educator capacity and supporting continuous improvement across schools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching license
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of successful teaching experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, instructional design, or content-area leadership
  • Experience designing and facilitating professional learning at the school or district level
  • Strong background in data analysis and instructional improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Experience leading district-level initiatives or cross-school work
  • Deep expertise in a specific content area (e.g., Humanities, STEM, Literacy)
  • Experience supporting instructional material adoption or implementation
  • Knowledge of state standards and assessment systems (e.g., Colorado Academic Standards)

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, refinement, and alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment within assigned content area
  • Serve as district content expert and resource for schools and leadership
  • Promote research-based, culturally responsive instructional practices
  • Design and facilitate districtwide professional learning aligned to content standards and instructional priorities
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers, instructional leaders, and teams
  • Develop teacher leaders and content specialists across schools
  • Support implementation of district-adopted instructional materials and resources
  • Monitor instructional trends and fidelity of implementation across schools
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels
  • Support development and alignment of common assessments
  • Analyze district and state data to identify trends, gaps, and priorities
  • Guide data-driven instructional planning and improvement efforts
  • Collaborate with school leaders and district departments (e.g., Special Education, ELD, GT)
  • Support alignment of instructional initiatives and district priorities
  • Contribute to strategic planning and improvement efforts

Benefits

  • Non-Recurring Pay: 7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5% on May paycheck)
