About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is a local interpretation and translation business based in downtown Columbus. The Face to Face Interpreter provides in-person American Sign Language interpretation—not video or telephone interpretation—to assist people who are deaf or hard of hearing during medical, social service, and other appointments. The role offers flexible scheduling, with interpreters choosing their own hours and deciding how many available assignments to accept. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. Earnings depend on the number of assignments accepted.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a higher-learning degree in ASL interpretation (associate or bachelor's degree) or RID certification.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal fingerprint-based criminal background check and a 10-panel drug screening; both are provided at no cost to the applicant.
- Speak English and American Sign Language (ASL).
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face American Sign Language interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Accept available assignments according to a self-selected schedule.
