About The Position

This role involves performing general arc welding (MIG process) and operating machinery for grinding. The position may require training on Hyd & CNC brake press, shears, and CNC plasma cutting. Fabrication jobs are complex, involving various processes and assembly to meet high-quality standards and deadlines. The welder must adhere to AWS standards and be certified in both hardwire and flux core wire welding processes. The role requires reading and following plans, material lists, and guidelines, applying necessary timelines, and operating various welding equipment, torches, jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, PCs, and hand tools. The employee will conduct visual and dimensional checks of their own work and that of lower-level welders, providing assistance and training as needed. Following general work orders and safety procedures is crucial for fabricating difficult production parts and weldments of various sizes and configurations. The job involves hand set-ups, completing, modifying, and enhancing final products. Operating equipment like drill presses and brake presses, and reading blueprints to fabricate complex parts (low and high volume) is essential. The employee must inspect and approve their own work before the next operation, maintain a neat and organized work area, and complete associated paperwork. Assistance to co-workers may be requested by management.

Requirements

Must use AWS standards/processes certified in both hardwire and flux core wire welding processes.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Related experience or completed training.
Advanced computer skills specifically Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

Performs general arc welding (“MIG”) process.
Operates machinery to perform grinding.
May be required to be trained in using Hyd & CNC brake press and shears & CNC plasma cutting.
Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
Operates welding equipment, arc gouging equipment, oxy-fuel and brazing torches, jigs, holding fixtures, measuring instruments, personal computer (PC) and hand tools.
Conducts visual and dimensional check of own work and completed work of lower level welders plus provides work assistance/guidance/training to lower level Welders as required.
Follows general work orders and specific safety procedures in the fabrication of difficult production parts and a variety of sub and final weldments of all sizes and configurations through general arc welding, MIG.
Work requires hand set-ups.
Completes, modifies, and/or enhances final products as required.
Operates drill press, brake press & other equipment.
Reads drawings (blueprints) in order to fabricate a variety of complex, low and high-volume parts.
Required to inspect & approve own work prior to next operation.
Maintains work area, equipment and supplies in neat, organized manner.
Final inspection of finished work and timely completion of associated paperwork.
Provide assistance to co-workers as requested by department management.
