The primary tasks of the Fabrication Welder involve building machine frames and components out of structural steel, followed by tearing down completed machines to prepare for transport. This role includes MIG welding and fabrication of machine frames and components that consist of light gauge sheet metal to heavy gauge tube, flat bar and I-Beam. Fabricating industrial ovens, safety guarding, vacuum tanks, swing doors, fan brackets, and catwalks are also key responsibilities. The role also involves grinding and finishing completed products, performing quality checks on finished components, installing finished components into machine structures, and disassembling machines for painting and shipping. Material handling with sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes is also part of the job.
