About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Fabrication Technician - 2nd Shift. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 12:45am. The rate for this position is $23.92 plus a $1.00 shift differential per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of metal fabrication technician experience.
  • Experience as a machine operator or a graduate of a machine certificate program.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of El Paso, TX (50 miles) will be considered for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication including experience with standard punch and bend tooling and processes.
  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
  • Experience with measuring devices (i.e., tape measure and calipers).
  • Experience with Eaton systems including DMM and AS-400.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate parts from steel, aluminum and cast metals according to the specifications in the blueprints.
  • Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Work from travel document, blueprints and oral or written instructions to setup, operate and perform periodic maintenance on a variety of machines including the shear, Finn Power, Prima, Horizontal Press Brakes/Benders, and Trump Laser.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Responsible for quality, including measuring finished parts with tape measure and/or calipers, visual inspections of material, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
