The Fabrication Technician – Powder Coat position is responsible for loading and unloading materials onto the powder-coat line and may also operate the powder-coat booth. Duties include applying powder to parts according to customer specifications, inspecting finished work to ensure it meets all quality and customer standards, and maintaining high performance to achieve production and quality targets. The role also involves fostering a safe, engaged, and inclusive workplace by following all company policies, using required personal protective equipment, operating equipment safely, and completing assigned 5S tasks. The technician will use travel documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions to load, unload, set up, and operate the powder-coat line. Maintaining expected progress within the assigned area and communicating any issues or concerns in a timely manner are crucial. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and conducting root-cause analysis when quality or production challenges occur are also key responsibilities. Verifying product quality involves measuring finished parts using tape measures and/or calipers, performing visual inspections, identifying nonconforming components, and troubleshooting defects. The role also requires cross-training in additional tasks and providing support to other team members or functions as needed.
