About The Position

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for leading fabrication team members, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and engaging them to perform at the highest level. This role involves training and developing team members to reach their full potential, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel, and relentlessly promoting the Aagard culture. The supervisor will foster open communication, share knowledge, and build positive collaboration between all shifts and departments. A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential, including maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment, ensuring parts and processes meet quality standards, and identifying/implementing best practices to boost performance, productivity, and cost efficiency. The role also involves monitoring safety and quality metrics, addressing issues promptly, and ensuring team members operate efficiently to complete machine units and rework on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficient in reading CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate CNC equipment
  • Experience in machinery fabrication and measuring instruments
  • Strong prioritization, time management, organization, proactive decision-making, and attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to exceeding customer expectations
  • Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field preferred
  • 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in interviewing, performance management, coaching, and developing teams advantageous

  • Operate and set up fabrication equipment proficiently to meet production goals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, tooling, and process issues to support team success
  • Foster open communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration while upholding Aagard's values
  • Recommend and implement best practices to prioritize safety, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain professional interactions with customers and vendors
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
