About The Position

This role is responsible for leading Fabrication team members, ensuring they perform at the highest level through hiring, coaching, and mentoring. The Fabrication Supervisor will train and develop team members to reach their full potential, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel. A key obsession is to relentlessly promote the Aagard culture, communicating openly, sharing knowledge, and building positive collaboration between all shifts and departments. The position also requires a commitment to safety and quality, maintaining a safe, organized, and clean work environment, and ensuring parts and processes meet quality standards through routine maintenance and checks. Identifying and implementing best practices to boost performance, productivity, and cost efficiency, while monitoring safety and quality metrics and addressing issues promptly are also crucial. The supervisor must ensure team members operate efficiently and with urgency, completing machine units and rework on schedule, and responding quickly to customer needs with an "I can’t believe they pulled that off" mindset. Proficiency in operating and setting up fabrication equipment, and troubleshooting and resolving equipment, tooling, and process issues are essential to support team success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in interviewing, performance management, coaching, and developing teams advantageous
  • Proficient in reading CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate CNC equipment
  • Experience in machinery fabrication and measuring instruments
  • Strong prioritization, time management, organization, proactive decision-making, and attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft products including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
  • Commitment to exceeding customer expectations
  • Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field preferred
