About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Fabrication Specialist Team Lead (Level C) to support our site in Orangeburg, South Carolina. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Requirements

2+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
2+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
1+ year of experience in a formal or informal leadership role
Ability to sit and walk throughout work shift as well as carry and lift up to 35 pounds
Ability to work a variable shift.
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

2+ years of experience with drilling
2+ years of experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)
2+ years of experience leading any of the following: staff, teams, production, or quality system initiatives
2+ years of experience with managing or working to safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data
2+ years of experience with sanding, taping, mixing material, the application of paint

Responsibilities

Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.
Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.
Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.
Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.
Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.
Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.
Performs organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.
Applies organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements.
