Ferguson is seeking an individual to fill an immediate need for a 2nd Shift Fabrication Manager in our Fulton, MS location. This position will coordinate with welders and fabricators on projects, supervising the progress of the welding and fabrication operations, and ensuring the safety of all workers. Requirements

  • 3 years of direct supervisory/management/leadership experience is required
  • 2 years minimum experience in the mechanical contracting or process piping industry
  • Familiarity with welding and fabrication
  • Hands-on experience and training on pre and post heating, surface hardening, and Weld Inspections
  • Ability to read prints and illustrate detailed knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills
  • Must have good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with individual contributors, teams, peers, and leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of brazing and welding techniques is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Setting the schedule and keeping the shop moving.
  • Ensuring associates know what is expected of them to get accomplished every day.
  • Ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and meet calibration specifications.
  • Keeping records and maintaining an orderly environment to align with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Working from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment.
  • Supervising and leading the activities of fabrication shop personnel.
  • Utilizing proprietary software to list, schedule, and quote fabrication projects.
  • Providing both technical leadership and assisting in training less expert machinists.
