About The Position

This position at JBS USA is responsible for supporting the installation, servicing, and repair of mechanical equipment, including plant equipment, buildings, and facilities. The role involves planning, organizing, and directing manufacturing and maintenance operations to maximize asset return. It requires developing and implementing plans to minimize manufacturing costs through efficient use of resources. The supervisor will apply knowledge of various systems and equipment, including electrical, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and instrumentation. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment performance, inspecting completed work, managing preventative maintenance records, distributing schedules, overseeing facilities, identifying and resolving issues, supporting the Processing Operating System, ensuring safety compliance, enforcing company policies, and requisitioning supplies. The role also involves contributing to the development of JBS GI policies and procedures and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food processing plant; experience in a highly regulated industrial or manufacturing environment will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience maintaining and managing building services/systems using contractors and staff.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Working knowledge of preventative maintenance, powerhouse operations, facilities, equipment, machinery, refrigeration, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, instrumentation, and PLC controls in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Proven knowledge of building and fire codes, as well as health and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quality improvement and risk-management processes is an asset.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, servicing, and repair of mechanical equipment, including activities related to the maintenance and service of plant equipment, buildings, and facilities.
  • Plan, organize, and direct manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Develop and implement plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Apply working knowledge of electrical systems (control and industrial wiring), pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and instrumentation to maintain plant equipment at optimal levels.
  • Utilize knowledge of automatic equipment operation—including setup, repair, and teardown—to maintain equipment performance; inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Maintain plant Preventative Maintenance Records.
  • Distribute weekly maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee all physical plant facilities, systems, and equipment.
  • Identify and monitor issues as they arise and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in ongoing support of the Processing Operating System.
  • Ensure safety compliance for buildings, equipment, and staff.
  • Interpret and enforce company policies and practices.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist others in solving them.
  • Maintain production equipment to organizational standards, ensuring minimal downtime; requisition tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of JBS GI policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
