About The Position

We, at LPFP - Salisbury, a Leggett & Platt company, are searching for a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic within our Maintenance team. We have been manufacturing carpet underlay for over 22 years and are considered a full-scale recycler. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives. As a Fabrication Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to assist the maintenance department and/or the maintenance mechanics by creating, maintain, and repair the electrical and electronic components and equipment used in any equipment or device. Assist in mechanical task along with electrical. You may also perform other tasks as assigned. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that the machinery and facility runs efficiently. The team you will be working with collaborates to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and do advanced math.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.
  • Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
  • Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
  • Available to work on required Saturday’s.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fabrication maintenance, building maintenance, preventative maintenance and/or basic fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, modifies, designs, lays out, or fabricates (with or without blueprints).
  • Cuts, fits, and welds metal using gas and electric welding equipment; performs skilled brazing and soldering; and uses a variety of machines, such as power saws, grinders, and drills, in completing work.
  • Interpret prints, drawings, plans, or job write-ups and apply fabrication or welding techniques to complete projects.
  • Assist mechanics in production repairs/installation, and removal of equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
