Fabrication Fitter - Swing Shift

ANDRITZ AG•Ruston, LA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Fabrication Fitter uses knowledge of welding techniques and processes, metallurgical and material types, material cutting processes (including oxy/acetylene and plasma), weld symbols, and engineering blueprints to accomplish production goals. The Fitter lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using common fabrication tools, including tape measures and tri-squares, and welding processes. The position works Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, in a warehouse and manufacturing shop environment. The Fitter makes routine decisions involving fitting, layout, tack welding, fabrication methods, tool selection, and interpretation of blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications within established procedures and quality standards. Non-routine technical issues and unclear specifications are escalated to a supervisor or appropriate technical resource. The role applies company policies, work instructions, quality requirements, and shop procedures. It has no direct financial approval authority and may provide task-level guidance to helpers or less-experienced employees without direct supervisory authority. Employees are expected to contribute to safe working conditions, report and address unsafe situations, and support continuous improvement in safety, quality, workflow, fabrication methods, tool use, and material handling. The role promotes the ANDRITZ 8 Life-Saving Rules and #1ANDRITZway core behaviors: Customer Focus, Ownership for Performance, Shared Commitment, and Openness.
