About The Position

The Welder/Fitter fabricates and welds components for overhead cranes and related equipment in a heavy industrial environment. The role requires working from shop drawings, interpreting welding symbols and fabrication specifications, and producing high-quality Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) welds that meet applicable AWS standards.

The position is contract-to-hire, with potential for full-time employment after 90 days. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with Saturdays as needed. Starting pay is $26.00 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience. A $850 sign-on bonus is offered after six months of employment. Requirements

• Welding and fitting experience in an industrial or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret AWS welding symbols.
• Experience with Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Ability to meet the required vertical full-penetration and overhead fillet weld test standards.
• Understanding of AWS D1.1 and D14.1 welding standards.
• Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial setting and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable attendance and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fit, fabricate, and weld crane components using shop drawings.
• Produce quality FCAW welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D14.1 standards.
• Interpret welding symbols and fabrication specifications.
• Pass a full-penetration vertical weld test and an overhead fillet weld test.
• Follow safety procedures in a heavy industrial environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays when required.
