Fabrication Finish - SVI Trucks
About The Position
SVI Trucks builds custom fire apparatus, including rescue trucks, hazmat units, command vehicles, fire engines, tanker trucks, law enforcement vehicles and more. Every truck that leaves the factory is truly one-of a-kind thanks to innovative engineering and meticulous construction. We are looking for an energetic, self-starting fabricator for our fabrication finish department of our Truck Division. In this department we pre-fit and build modules for our custom apparatus’s before they get painted. Do you love to work with your hands? Are you good at problem solving? Do you want to help build something that will help first responders? If yes, then we want you!
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 70+ pounds
- Kneeling crouching and laying under vehicles is required
- Able to obtain a forklift certification
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Able to take initiative and problem solve
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical agility test, and a background check
- Able to use and read a tape measure
- Must be able to adapt and excel in a fast-paced, high-energy, busy atmosphere
- Quick learner interested in learning a trade, or experienced in a trade and looking to expand on knowledge
Nice To Haves
- Welding experience preferred
- Any form of carpentry experience preferred
Responsibilities
- The knowledge and ability to effectively use both power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read and follow blueprints
- General mechanical knowledge
- General mathematical knowledge such as addition and subtraction, and ability to understand fractions and decimals
- Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure
- Good organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Learn and apply valuable skills and gain useful knowledge
- Drive to learn how to fabricate and weld
- Ability to follow instructions explicitly
- Other duties as assigned
