About The Position

The Fabrication Field Tech performs field fabrication, welding, and mechanical repairs to keep customer equipment operating safely and reliably. The role sets up, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and tears down customer equipment, primarily mobile rock crushing equipment, conveyors, and related systems. Work is performed directly at customer sites to minimize downtime, support safe equipment operation, and provide responsive technical service. The technician also instructs customers on proper equipment use and works with Service, Parts, Sales, manufacturers, and technical support to strengthen customer relationships. The position is assigned to a Goodfellow facility and reports to the Service Manager. It is performed primarily in the field at customer locations such as aggregate operations, rock quarries, above-ground mining sites, construction and industrial sites, and equipment yards. Regular travel within the assigned service area is required; overnight travel may be necessary, with trips generally fewer than five days at a time. Schedules vary with service demand and assignments. Approximately 40–60 hours per week may be expected when business needs require, including extended hours. The work environment may include heavy equipment, moving machinery, dust, dirt, noise, weather, uneven terrain, grease, oils, and other industrial conditions. Required PPE must be worn. Safety is an essential responsibility: the technician must maintain required training and qualifications, follow company and customer-site procedures, comply with applicable OSHA, MSHA, and DOT requirements, and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions. Goodfellow Corporation is an equal opportunity employer committed to a respectful, inclusive workplace.
