About The Position

Plans work and layout, sets up and fabricates a wide variety of intricate, experimental and/or production parts from raw material. Includes operating numerous presses and using other hand tools. Works with and interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. to accomplish assigned work. Checks and inspects operations against specified tolerances.

Requirements

• Developing job knowledge/skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

• Mechanical experience background
• Forklift operating experience
• Basic math skills
• Good writing and communications skills

Responsibilities

• Use basic hand tools and fixturing
• Use PPE for appropriate protection
• Lift at least 30 pounds
• Read and understand technical drawings and shop orders
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Keep an accurate completion of required documentation involved in the firing of parts, travelers, logs, process control data etc.
• Kiln maintenance, including minor repair and TC validations
• Housekeeping
• Be easily trained and work well with engineering and supervisor
