About The Position
Volt is hiring a Fabrication Associate in Halethorpe, Maryland. This is a full-time contract opportunity involving pipe fabrication and handling in a fabrication shop and pipe yard. The associate follows established procedures for pipe fabrication, machine setup and maintenance, measuring and cutting, threading and beveling, order assembly, and safe storage and transportation of pipe. The role also includes inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.
Requirements
- Experience with fabrication, cutting, assembling, and stacking.
- Experience operating machines.

- Plumbing experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow established standard operating procedures for pipe fabrication.
- Follow procedures for setting up and maintaining machines in the fabrication shop.
- Accurately measure, record, and add random pipe length.
- Measure and cut pipe using a band saw and/or torch according to proper procedures.
- Thread and bevel pipes using Landis machines according to proper procedures.
- Move loose or bundled pipe between locations within the pipe yard.
- Assemble pipe orders as single sticks or bundles and keep work supplies organized.
- Observe safety precautions when fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe for storage and transportation.
- Inspect and maintain forklift equipment in functional condition.
