About The Position

The Fabric Cutter measures, cuts, packs, and ships customer orders accurately and efficiently according to customer requirements. The role uses the Infor system to maintain inventory accuracy, inspects printed and woven fabrics for quality issues, and works to meet productivity standards and published cuts-per-hour targets. The Fabric Cutter also participates in training and helps maintain a safe, clean work environment. The position includes setting up machinery by installing, leveling, and aligning components such as gears, chains, guides, dies, cutters, and needles, as applicable. The employee inspects machinery to determine whether repairs are needed and prioritizes cutting work according to the shipping schedule. The role requires flexibility within the distribution center’s operating hours, currently between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern.

Requirements

At least 1 year of warehouse or manufacturing experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and fractions.
Ability to distinguish colors and patterns.
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and push and pull rolling carts and pallet jacks.
Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 12 hours per day.
Ability to use MS Office.
Ability to work flexibly within the distribution center’s hours, currently between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern.

Nice To Haves

Good knowledge of fabric cutting tools, machinery, and methods.
Familiarity with inventory and warehouse management concepts and systems.
Prior experience in textiles and wallcoverings.
Prior experience in pick, pack, and ship operations.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, pack, and ship orders accurately, efficiently, and according to customer requirements.
Perform activities in the Infor system to maintain inventory accurately.
Inspect printed and woven fabrics and recognize quality issues.
Meet or exceed productivity standards and published cuts-per-hour targets.
Participate in provided training.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Install, level, and align machinery components, such as gears, chains, guides, dies, cutters, and/or needles, to set up machinery for operation.
Inspect machinery to determine whether repairs are needed.
Organize and prioritize cutting according to the shipping schedule.
