About The Position

The Fabrication Technician / Driver converts sales orders into finished products by using fabrication machines to cut and assemble parts. The position follows production schedules, completes work orders to quality standards, observes safety requirements, and serves as a delivery driver when needed. It also supports warehouse material handling and inventory activities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of one year of experience in a similar position is preferred.
Experience and/or previous training operating a band saw is preferred.
Proficiency with fabrication equipment, including threading machines, benders, stationary belt sanders, drill presses, bench grinders, hand tools, measuring tools, band saws, and ironworkers.
Experience safely operating a forklift.
Good personal communication skills and the ability to interact positively and professionally with employees, customers, and vendors.
Understanding of safe warehouse practices and ability to follow safe machine standard operating procedures.
Ability to read and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-form documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals, and procedure manuals.
Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
Clean driving record and ability to drive vehicles ranging from a small pickup truck to a 2-ton, 5-speed flatbed diesel truck; must be at least 21 years old to meet auto insurance requirements.
Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents, and measure materials accurately.
Thorough knowledge of different metals, their physical properties, and how to work with them.
Good dexterity and physical stamina; ability to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 3–4 feet and load products into trucks.
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and to ascend and descend a ladder to retrieve or put away products on shelving and racking.
Ability to safely operate a dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift for loading and unloading supplies.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret written work instructions and fabrication drawings.
Receive and process assigned tasks through the Eclipse work order module in conjunction with pre-fab orders.
Communicate professionally with customers about project requirements, discrepancies, scheduling, and shipping details.
Use Monday.com to schedule and prioritize tasks.
Set up and operate fabrication equipment for tasks such as saw cutting, threading rod, bending anchor bolts, shearing, and punching.
Cut materials accurately to specifications using quality-control conventions; assemble finished products and move them to designated areas.
Pull inventory for orders using established warehouse procedures, unload delivery trucks, and move inventory to designated areas.
Operate company vehicles safely and courteously in accordance with traffic rules; verify daily vehicle preventive maintenance, report vehicle problems to the Warehouse Manager, and keep the truck interior clean, organized, and safely maintained.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with DOT and company requirements and standards; immediately notify a supervisor of issues with DOT compliance, driving-record status, or medical certification.
Plan delivery routes for efficiency and to meet timing deadlines; check delivery paperwork and customer orders for accuracy and report issues to the Branch Manager.
Inspect and secure truck loads and deliver products to specified job sites as part of multi-stop routes, using a forklift and/or hand unloading.
Prepare products for delivery and assist warehouse personnel with material handling, including order pulling, put-away, and cleaning.
Perform essential warehouse tasks, including lifting, loading, and handling products and supplies.
