About The Position

Responsible for supervising restaurant shift in the completion of assigned duties, guest service, set-up and clean up, according to standards of service.

  • Provide clear direction to restaurant staff, assigning work and instructing staff in details of work.
  • Observe performance and encourage improvement, ensuring productivity, efficiency and standards of service are met, enhancing morale.
  • Train staff as needed.
  • Serve as role model for restaurant team.
  • Resolve customer issues and complications, by researching the situation and determining most effective solution.
  • Make decisions based on good judgment, accommodating unusual circumstances.
  • Authorize revenue allowances to remedy problems, only after alternative solutions have been offered.
  • Ensure adequate service, according to labor standards and functions.
  • Check staff attendance according to schedules, adjust and reassign server stations, as necessary, in order to provide quality service during functions.
  • Supervise the set up of the restaurant, to include placement of linens, silver, china, and glassware.
  • Visually inspect restaurant areas and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up.
  • Ensure service standards are met throughout the restaurant operations team during service.
  • Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of service with the kitchen, service areas, beverage, and engineering staff, as well as the guests to ensure quality service, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards.
  • Walk around tables and throughout room during service to inquire and ascertain guest satisfaction or handle any employee needs and assist as needed.
  • Supervise clean-up of restaurant and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
  • Prepare any necessary reports.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • The employee may be expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests; please refer to Section 7.0 in the Associate Handbook for specific examples.
  • Maintains strong influence within all hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline and/or termination decisions.
  • Responsible for receiving, processing and investigating complaints made per the existing harassment policy.
