About The Position

South Seas is seeking an energetic, hands-on Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead operations at Flippers, the signature walk-up restaurant located inside Captiva Landing Waterpark. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for the daily operation, financial performance, team leadership, and guest experience of Flippers while serving as a hospitality ambassador throughout the waterpark. Beyond managing restaurant operations, this leader actively engages with guests across Captiva Landing by promoting Flippers' menu offerings, encouraging food and beverage sales, supporting special events and cabana service, and creating memorable experiences that enhance guest satisfaction and revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate is an energetic hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams in a fast-paced, outdoor resort environment while delivering exceptional service to families and vacationing guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience.
  • Proven experience leading hourly teams.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations.
  • Experience managing labor, scheduling, inventory, and financial performance.
  • Strong guest service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience hiring and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required.
  • Must be proficient in POS systems, Inventory Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
  • Must be 18 years old or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in state of FL
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations)

Nice To Haves

  • Resort, hotel, waterpark, or high-volume casual dining experience preferred.
  • Some college preferred.
  • QSR and Outdoor Dining experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of Flippers, ensuring exceptional food quality, cleanliness, efficiency, and service.
  • Lead opening, closing, and daily operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, food safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Maintain high presentation standards for the restaurant, dining areas, beverage stations, and service counters.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation while partnering with culinary leadership.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Actively circulate throughout Captiva Landing to engage with guests and promote Flippers' food and beverage offerings.
  • Build relationships with guests while encouraging purchases through suggestive selling and hospitality.
  • Coordinate with Recreation and Cabana teams to maximize guest experiences.
  • Support special events, themed activities, and resort programming within the waterpark.
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally while ensuring service recovery when needed.
  • Create a fun, welcoming, and family-friendly atmosphere that reflects the South Seas brand.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train restaurant team members.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly associates.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Foster a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Build employee engagement and recognize outstanding performance.
  • Manage labor scheduling to meet productivity goals.
  • Monitor payroll, labor costs, and overtime.
  • Control food and beverage costs through inventory management and waste reduction.
  • Review daily sales reports and identify revenue opportunities.
  • Assist in developing budgets and forecasting.
  • Achieve departmental financial and operational goals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Order food, beverages, paper products, and operating supplies.
  • Monitor receiving procedures and vendor deliveries.
  • Minimize product loss through proper storage and inventory controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all South Seas policies and procedures.
  • Maintain ServSafe and responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of restaurant operations.
  • Ensure team compliance with OSHA, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
