About The Position

This placement opportunity is designed to provide comprehensive training and experience within various departments of the Food and Beverage sector. The program includes an initial orientation phase, followed by hands-on experience in roles such as Host/Greeter, Reservations Coordinator, and Outlets Supervisor. The goal is to equip participants with a deep understanding of restaurant operations, guest management, reservation systems, and staff supervision within the hospitality industry.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry.
  • A hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA).
  • 5 years of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).
  • Demonstrated consistent career growth over the last years.
  • Demonstrated serious commitment to most recent employers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive orientation to the company, local community, customers, culture, and business strategies.
  • Learn about payroll schedules and tax withholding.
  • Gain knowledge of local training areas, housing options, and transportation.
  • Meet key contacts and other employees.
  • Receive computer training on company systems.
  • Learn about local community resources including cultural centers, volunteer opportunities, and entertainment venues.
  • Learn responsibilities of a restaurant host, including managing guest flow and seating arrangements.
  • Develop skills in phone etiquette and managing the restaurant reservation system.
  • Learn to manage the reservations system, including accepting reservations and entering guest information.
  • Maintain logs of reservations and coordinate special requests for occasions.
  • Oversee checks and balances for reservation accuracy and communication quality.
  • Supervise outlet service staff.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Interact with guests to ensure a positive experience.
  • Ensure timely and professional meal service.
  • Handle guest complaints.
  • Ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in hiring, scheduling, and supervising various F&B staff.
  • Conduct pre-meal meetings and employee training.
  • Assist the team to enhance the guest experience in service.
