About The Position

This placement opportunity is designed to provide comprehensive training and experience within various departments of the Food and Beverage sector. The program includes an initial orientation phase covering company culture, payroll, local resources, and computer systems, followed by hands-on experience in roles such as Host/Greeter, Reservations Coordinator, and Outlets Supervisor. The goal is to develop a deep understanding of restaurant operations, guest management, reservation systems, and staff supervision, culminating in a role where participants can contribute to a positive guest experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry.
  • Possess a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA).
  • Have 5 years of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).
  • Shown consistent career growth over the last years.
  • Shown serious commitment to most recent employers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive orientation to the company, local community, payroll schedules, and computer systems.
  • Learn about local training areas, housing options, and transportation.
  • Meet key contacts and other employees.
  • Learn responsibilities of a restaurant host, including seating guests and managing guest flow.
  • Develop phone etiquette and learn to manage the restaurant reservation system.
  • Learn the reservations system, accept reservations, and enter guest information.
  • Maintain reservation logs and print/email daily menu changes.
  • Resolve guest complaints and coordinate special requests for occasions.
  • Oversee checks and balances for reservation accuracy and communication quality.
  • Supervise outlet service staff.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Interact with guests to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Ensure meals are served professionally and timely.
  • Handle guest complaints.
  • Ensure availability of manpower, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in hiring, scheduling, and supervision of various F&B staff.
  • Conduct pre-meal meetings and employee training.
  • Assist the team to enhance the guest experience.
