About The Position

The Extrusion Technician is a machine operator responsible for the set-up, tear-down, and operation of co-extrusion equipment, including the par cool tower and liquid smoke application. This role ensures compliance with company specifications and regulatory standards, and involves performing corrective actions for quality or food safety deviations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of education.
  • 1+ year of machine operating experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to complete paperwork and use SAP as required for the role.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds from below the waist to above the shoulder frequently.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs throughout the course of scheduled shifts occasionally.
  • Ability to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at approximately 35 degrees.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered.
  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.
  • No suspension on record for the last 12 months.

  • Food manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify problems and initiate corrective action arising from quality and food safety deviations.
  • Identify and support process improvements.
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions.
  • Meet commitments with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Read and interpret written information.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements.
  • Obtain forklift certification.
  • Safely use chemicals for cleaning and completing sanitation related processes.
  • Use computer programs for inventory purposes, filing of documents, and gathering process information.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Perform all positions of rotation if applicable.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by Management.
  • Cover other shifts as needed.
  • Work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
