About The Position

This position will be tasked with maintaining a safe environment for employees and authorized visitors at the facility and protecting the property and assets of Tyson Foods. This facility is part of our Prepared Foods business unit.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or its equivalency.
  • Previous law enforcement, military, corrections, or security experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are a necessity, and applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including Tyson Management.
  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion, and calmly and reasonably handle situations that are tense, uncertain, and rapidly evolving.
  • Must have a level of physical fitness and stamina that will allow them to withstand periods of walking and standing for periods of time, running short distances, and controlling physical altercations if necessary.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel and authorized items into the facility.
  • Monitoring and patrolling the premises utilizing surveillance cameras, foot patrols, and vehicle patrols to identify security issues.
  • Enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
  • Investigating, completing reports, and maintaining records of security issues, workplace violence, property damage, and ethics related incidents.
  • Interviewing team members and documenting the statements of those involved in any incidents and disturbances within the facility.
  • Operating communications equipment including telephone, two-way radio, and intercom equipment.
  • Responding to emergencies such fires, workplace violence, medical incidents, and security breaches.
  • Collaborating with local police and fire officials as necessary for better preparedness and response to emergency situations.
  • Other job assignment duties may be assigned by supervisor.
