About The Position

The Extrusion Technician/Cell Leader PVC A Crew will supervise and coordinate daily operations within their assigned cell to meet production schedules. This role involves monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and troubleshooting extrusion lines. The leader will also manage and mentor team members, foster a positive work environment, and drive process improvements using Lean principles. Quality assurance, resource management, and effective communication are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
At minimum, must be a current Operator or Extrusion Technician.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the cell to meet production schedules.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
Troubleshooting and operating extrusion lines.
Lead and mentor cell team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Conduct daily huddles to communicate goals, updates, and address team concerns.
Support employee development by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement using Lean principles.
Monitor workflow and suggest changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans for production issues.
Ensure production lines meet quality standards and address deviations promptly.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to maintain compliance with specifications and procedures.
Coordinate the availability of materials, tools, and equipment for uninterrupted operations.
Maintain accurate records of production data, downtime, and maintenance needs.
Serve as the liaison between the cell and upper management, providing regular updates and reports.
Facilitate effective communication among team members and other departments.
