About The Position

Working at Boyd isn’t your usual manufacturing experience. This role is designed for someone who prefers an intellectual challenge above and beyond the day-to-day physical tasks. And the best part is, no prior experience is required; on the job training will gladly be provided! This is a 3rd shift position working Sunday night - Thursday night 10pm - 6am. These full-time positions include a competitive benefits package, a weekly attendance bonus, and no experience is required. In a nutshell, our Extrusion Operators are responsible for operating an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures/guidelines and customer requirements. The ideal person will be a team player with a drive to succeed and a willingness to help others. We are a company that takes pride in satisfying our customers, so candidates should be prepared to support our efforts with overtime work as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for a 8-hour shift, which may include: bending, twisting, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read a work order, use a tape measure, and preferred caliper/micrometer experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior extrusion experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Produce quality parts; inspecting and approving profiles to ensure they meet all manufacturing requirements.
  • Inspect the quality of materials and alert the Production Supervisor or appropriate personnel of material issues and/or failures immediately.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
  • When needed will need to perform die changes.
  • Inspect the quality of the machinery and report equipment failures to the Maintenance Department.
  • Perform all quality checks and be responsible for accurate paperwork; quality minded.
  • Occasional forklift operating.
  • Ensure that all required shift paperwork is accurate and complete.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
