About The Position

We produce lightweight foams for a wide range of markets including sports and leisure, aviation, automotive, and healthcare. The extrusion operator sets, troubleshoots and runs all machines, associated equipment and activities in the Extrusion department and perform related work as assigned. Openings for both day and night shift on a 12-hour rotational schedule. Shift differentials offer for nights and weekends (Saturday & Sunday).

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy, exercise sound judgment, problem analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, plan, organize, and execute with excellence
  • Proven history of accomplishment in the servicing of internal and external customers

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in manufacturing work highly desirable
  • Extrusion work experience preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001-2000 experience is welcomed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all machines and associated equipment in response to die, grade or color change requirements involving: Breakdown and assembly of extruder, Die setting and adjusting, Machine start-up
  • Running of all machines and associated equipment to standard process conditions to produce in-specification product
  • Monitor and control running all machines to process control data. Basic trouble shooting to maintain correct process running conditions and in specification production
  • Collect and prepare samples as specified
  • Input all machine and quality related data into AX and other data gathering tools and maintain all paperwork as required
  • Ensure safe running of all equipment to internal safety guidelines
  • Ensure the department and all associated areas are maintained in a safe, orderly and tidy manner
  • Ensure the Plant Manager is informed of all issues and problems
  • Train others as needed
  • Other duties as required/assigned
